Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
There are times when we wonder if God is still actively working in our life. We can't perceive that He is doing anything. But He is working. He never gives up on the process of conforming believers into the image of His son (Rom 8:29). The work He has begun, He will complete. We may not see it, feel it, or understand it, but He is working.
Paul, while imprisoned, writes to struggling believers to reassure them that God is not done with them yet. He says that they, like him, should be confident or sure of God's working in them by considering:
The Commencement of His Working
that he who began (Eph 1:4, Ps 139, Jer 1:4-5)
The Ceaselessness of His Working
a good work in you will bring it
The Course of His Working
to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Rom 8:29)
