the 365 Journey
Outline Week 50
1 Timothy 4:7-8
Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Care for our body demands personal training. Care for our soul requires spiritual training.
Here Paul tells young Timothy not to forgo his training in godliness. He remarks that it is an essential element for developing into a dynamic disciple. He stress that godliness is not automatic and that believers must be disciplined and diligent in training themselves for godliness.
As believers who desire to be trained for godliness we must consider:
The Pursuit of the Believer
. . . for godliness;
The Path for the Believer
Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness
The Promise to the Believer
. . . for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
