Tested and Trusted

Exodus 4:24-26

24 At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. 25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it and said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!" 26 So he let him alone. It was then that she said, "A bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.

 

We trust God, but does God trust us?

To trust in God and be trusted by Him we must understand

 

The Declarations to Trust

v. 26 Circumcision Gen 17:7-14, v. 10  This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.   John 14:15 If you love me keep my commandments, 1 John 5:1-3, Lev 12:3,

 

The Diversions from Trust

v. 24 At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. Gen 17:14 Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant. James 2:10 Whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all. Deut 27:26, Jer 7: 21-24

 

The Decision to Trust

v. 25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet

 

The Delight in Trust

v. 26 So he let him alone. It was then that she said, "A bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision. Rom 5:9 Since, therefore we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who were once far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
