I Don't See it

I Don’t See It

Today’s Bible Reading: JOB 32:1-34:37

Job 34: 32

teach me what I do not see; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?

There are times in our lives when we are oblivious as to why certain things are happening. We are at a loss to comprehend the cause of our crisis. We can’t see what brought about the situation. We don’t understand why we are experiencing these events. We long for answers to our anguish.

Job was encountering enormous suffering. He knew that all that he was experiencing was by God’s hand, but he was confounded as to the cause. He knew that God in His divine wisdom had His reasons for everything that had happened. He also knew that at times God’s purpose and plan was hidden from our sight. He understood that he might never know the reason for all that he endured.

Job didn’t see what God saw. He longed to learn what he was missing and to see what he was not seeing. In these times we must ask the Lord to direct us to discern what we don’t know regarding our dilemma. We must desire that the Lord would peel back His cloak of secrecy and show us something that would help us understand our situation. We are at a loss and need the Lord to lead us to perceive the particulars of our problem. We want to see what we don’t yet see.

We want to be acquainted with whatever has led to our adversity, that we might abstain from it to avoid additional agony. We must ask if we “have done iniquity”. We need to be made aware of any transgressions public or private that could have caused our trouble. We want to become conscious of the source of our chastisement. We petition the Lord to make us cognizant of any concealed iniquity that has escaped our notice. We want the Lord to help us see why His hand is heavy upon us.

As the window of our soul is opened, we must be willing to remove what has been revealed. If sin is exposed it must be eradicated. Once sin is discovered it must be destroyed. We must commit to clear out any corruption that has created our chastisement. We must not only remove it, but resolve to “do it no more”. We must purge the sin and promise to sin no more. What has been amiss must be amended. It is in this that the furnace of affliction forges faithful saints.

Today commit to call on God to give clarity in times of crisis. When you don’t “see” clearly your situation, ask Him to “teach you what you do not see”. He will. Look to Him to help you decipher your dilemmas. Determine to destroy any sin that He discloses and decide to “do it no more”.
