Faithfully Follow
Numbers 15:39-41
37 The LORD said to Moses, 38 "Speak to the people of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. 39 And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. 40 So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. 41 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God
Here we find four things to consider that will help you to faithfully follow the Lord. They are your
Reminder to Faithfully Follow
38 make tassels on the corners of their garments . . . put a cord of blue on the tassel . . . 39 And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD Deut 22:12
Resolve to Faithfully Follow
39 To do them . . . 40 do all my commands John 14:15 If you love me you will obey my commands
Roadblock to Faithfully Follow
39 ,. . . not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. Jer 17:9
Reason to Faithfully Follow
Your Reflection of the Lord 40 be holy to your God Lev 11:44-45 . . . be holy for I am holy.
Your Relationship with the Lord 41 I am the LORD your God, . . . I am the LORD your God.”
Your Rescue by the Lord 41 who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God
